Granite Beautiful with any decor; extremely hard, close-grain, natural stone; available from many different parts of the world; relatively non-absorbent; resists staining; heat resistant. As a supplier of granite, Cabinet Works provides a double coating of sealant to protect against food stains and scratches. Corian Remarkably smooth, solid surface; no visible seams ' American product; available in many colours; custom colours also available; scratches can be removed by sanding; moulded Corian sinks make for ease of cleaning; not heat resistant. Quartz Engineered quartz surface that looks, feels and weighs like natural granite and marble. With no sealant required, the highly resistant and non-porous properties of quartz provide superior protection against food stains, scratches and heat. This maintenance-free product is available in many colours. Acryflek Solid surface ' Canadian product; similar qualities to Corian. Marble Natural stone with veining; not as hard as granite; must be sealed properly to prevent staining; extremely heat resistant; mostly recommended for bathrooms. Limestone Modern natural look; similar characteristics to marble; kitchen and bathroom use. Laminate A most economical surface; available in hundreds of colours; able to camouflage small scratches but cannot repair; minimum heat resistance. Laminate with Corian or Acryflek Edging Allows a seamless edge on angled countertops; gives a very high quality look without the price tag of an all-Acryflek or Corian top. Butcher Block Beautiful and functional; end-grain surface; easy on knives; resists nicks and gouges and prevents bacteria from penetrating the wood; heat resistant but will scorch if subjected to extreme heat.
